RETAIL SALES - Volunteer Retail Assistant

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

There are so many varied jobs for volunteers to assist within a shift. Customer service, sorting and pricing donations, operating the till with cash handling, organizing stock, cleaning the shop and having fun!

SKILLS REQUIRED

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Reliability, honesty and a sense of humour.

Retail experience, customer service, knowledge or interest with clothing, textile interest, are all helpful, but not necessary.

LOCATION

South Shop - 145 King Edward Street, South Dunedin, Dunedin.

North Shop - 21 North Road, North East Valley, Dunedin.

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

If there is space on a shift, you can start straight away!

South Shop morning shift is 10am - 1pm and afternoon shift is 1pm - 4pm.

North Shop morning shift is 9.30am - 1pm and afternoon shift is 1pm - 4.30pm.

DRESS CODE

Tidy but comfortable dress. Aprons and vests are provided. You may even find some treasures to buy within the shop!

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Initial orientation and training provided. Opportunities arise from time to time for further training.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

You will be interviewed and need to provide referees for this role who can be a previous employee or someone who knows you and will be your biggest cheerleader! Police vetting will also be undertaken.

SKILLS THAT CAN BE GAINED FROM THIS ROLE

A sense of contribution to help in the community and help towards assisting the forgotten and abandoned of this world. Friendships are made and skills are learnt - Retail experience and Customer Service. Volunteering looks great on a CV and we can provide a reference for future employment.
