JOB DESCRIPTION

Plunket is looking for volunteers for the Home Help Service.

We offer practical support to families with preschool-aged children, through our volunteer-based programme. We connect our volunteers with families and they provide support through various different ways. This can include: Accompanying clients to appointments, vacuuming, hanging/folding washing, and advice around household management, and routines.

This is a great way to give back to the community and make a real difference for families.

SKILLS REQUIRED

We are looking for people who:

- Are reliable and Honest

- Show empathy and kindness

- Are energetic and positive

- Are open-minded

- Are confident

- Want to make a difference

LOCATION

Dunedin area. Flexibility around nearby suburbs is appreciated

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

1-1.5 hours per week consistently for 6 weeks at a time. This can sometimes be more if the family is in need of longer-term assistance.

DRESS CODE

Comfortable but tidy clothing that is warm and easy to wear/ work in.

Closed-toe footwear.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Ongoing support and communication with the Co-coordinator Emilee.

Full policy, personal safety and home-visit training is provided.

Social support through group meetings with our lovely group of volunteers

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Having your own car/transport is preferred, as this means you are available to cover more than just your local area, however we do have volunteers who catch the bus.
