JOB DESCRIPTION

 Volunteers are required to perform various gardening activities such as:

• potting-up, pricking-out, weeding and watering
• sometimes bigger projects such has painting and tidying the nursery.
• At certain times of year collecting seed from around the district and this requires cleaning and sorting before it can be germinated.

SKILLS REQUIRED

No special skills necessary, but green thumbs and an enthusiasm

for plants will certainly help.

LOCATION

Next to the rose garden in the Oamaru Public Gardens.

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Tuesday afternoons and nights, Friday afternoons and evenings, Sunday mornings and afternoons. Usually 2 or maybe 3 hours.

DRESS CODE

Closed toe shoes and rough-ish clothes that you don't mind getting a bit dirty. Personal protective equipment and tools will be provided.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

All volunteers will be working under direct supervision.
