COUNSELLING - Helpline Counsellor

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

To work on the Youthline National Helpline Support and

Referral service. To attend Helpline Counsellor training (six times per year as scheduled) and supervision once per month.

SKILLS REQUIRED

To be a good listener, patient, non-judgemental, supportive
and a good communicator.

LOCATION

Central Dunedin

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Negotiable - 2-3 shifts per month at 3 hours per shift plus 1 ½ hours per month for supervision and 2 hours per session for on-going training.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

As scheduled six times per year

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Must pass a police check. Commitment and compassion.
Must complete Youthline Otago’s 8 day Induction Programme as a prerequisite.  This training is held 3 times per year (Feb/Mar, Jun/Jul and Nov/Dec) and ALL 8 days must be completed in one training period.
Travel costs will be reimbursed.
