JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for experinced women with business development, legal, finance skills, life experience of any age and background to join our YWCA Board. If you are genuinely interested in making change in your community this is your chance.

• Be a member of the YWCA and promote its activities.

• Participate in the decision-making at monthly Board meetings and support decisions reached.

• Take responsibility for one or more volunteer roles.

• Participate in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan.

• Endeavour to ensure adequate funding for the organisation.

• Support the work of other YWCA Board and staff members.

• Be aware of community needs.

SKILLS REQUIRED

A willingness to be involved.  

Skills in a particular area (e.g. Law, Accounting) would be appreciated/ preferred.

LOCATION

362 Moray Place, Dunedin, 9016

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Meetings are once a month Monday evening but this can be negotiated.  The position also involves a few hours a week on a particular project.

No specific training.  Introduction to Board members and workings

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Volunteers are required to provide two professional referees.
