Bird Rescue Dunedin

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bird Rescue Dunedin Cleaner position involves feeding birds, caring for them appropriately and cleaning their cages. All volunteers must be over 16 years of age and be able to work unsupervised. The successful applicant must be reliable and willing to make an ongoing commitment to Bird Rescue Dunedin. Online training in identifying and caring for birds will be compulsory.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Ideally you will be flexible in your working style and willing to go on errands and outings as requested. These errands can be assisting with a call out, shopping and releasing birds.

You must be willing to get your hands dirty, be physically fit, able to lift reasonably heavy loads and have no respiratory conditions.

In this role you will be dealing with different types of birds including wild birds, gulls, ducks, cockatoos budgies and chickens, so a genuine love of all birds is required.

LOCATION

Dunedin

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

2 days a week, 10am – 3pm.

DRESS CODE

Clothes that can get dirty. Sensible footwear.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Online training in identifying and caring for birds will be compulsory.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

You must be over the age of 16.
