COUNSELLING/MENTORING - Crisis line Worker
JOB DESCRIPTION |

To be on duty to receive calls through the Crisis line between the hours of 5pm and midnight Monday to Friday and all day every Saturday and Sunday To respond appropriately to these calls based on the philosophies of the organisation. On occasion to assist with an admission into one of our Safe Houses. |

SKILLS REQUIRED |
||
Crisisline volunteers are our front-line personnel. They are expected to be advocates for a violence-free community. They need the ability to quickly develop a relationship of trust and respect so that a woman has enough information and support to take protective action. Empathy, listening skills, resilience.

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING |
||
Training commences late August. About 10 hours initially, with regular updating. Monthly supervision is also a requirement. |
