CARE GIVING/SOCIAL SERVICES - Supervisor

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

An onsite supervisor that is comfortable overseeing adults of a mixed range of ages and capabilities. Be able to say no and back it up. The position will involve meal preparation, generally of lunches but occasionally an evening meal. There would be light housework involved but the goal is to motivate the residents to assist with this. Keeping a visitors log. Keeping communal areas tidy (dishes, general tidying).

A short debrief on return of house supervisors.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Patience! Basic cooking skills, good communication skills and be able to be practical about issues that may arise.

LOCATION

524 Mount Cargill Road, Waitati, Dunedin

DAYS AND TIMES REQUIRED

Monday – Friday. 3 – 6 hour shifts. Times are flexible & negotiable to suit the volunteer.

DRESS CODE

Casual

SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

Orientation provided. Frequent meetings for debriefing and discussion. (In the future, hoping to provide other training and support).

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Interview and referees required. An understanding of sustainability and/or organics (not essential).

Help with transport can be provided.
