MAS Program Participants
Conduct archaeological field surveys at Eleven Point State Park, which may include walking over topographically diverse terrain under differing vegetation conditions, digging shovel tests, screening soil for artifacts, recording field notes, and completing archaeological site recordation forms.
Attending instructional lectures.
Participating in laboratory processing and analysis of archaeological materials.
Help keep park facilities used by the MAS training program clean and orderly.
May assist with set up, break down, and clean up of program operations and State Park facilities utilized.
Assist MAS program staff with other duties as assigned and agreed upon.
Work may entail exposure to sun, rain, heat and other natural environmental elements, including potential exposure to biting insects (e.g., ticks, spiders, mosquitos, gnats, etc.) and plants that may cause irritation (e.g., poison ivy, stinging nettle).
