My Brother's Keeper

Volunteer Computer Literacy Instructors help guests of My Brother's Keeper build foundational digital skills needed for employment, education, and daily life. Volunteers work directly with guests to teach basic computer skills, common Microsoft Office programs, and how to set up and use an email account.

• Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction in basic computer literacy
• Teach fundamental use of Microsoft Word (creating, formatting, and saving documents)
• Teach fundamental use of Microsoft Excel (basic spreadsheets, data entry, simple formulas)
• Guide guests step-by-step through setting up a personal email account

Shifts are Mondays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

My Brother’s Keeper is a comprehensive community-based resource center in West Baltimore that offers a wide range of support to community residents. From daily lunch service (5 days a week) to behavioral health, recovery and substance use support, workforce development/job placement, case management, GED, benefits access, financial literacy, expungement support, information referral and management, women’s empowerment group, and a community of brotherhood for men.

We believe that supporting the community with specific programs that address their strengths and challenges, while providing a compassionate and safe atmosphere, will foster hope and empowerment, help men and women become self-reliant and create the best version of themselves.
