Trails - Trail Maintenance
Purpose (why we are doing this):
To assist with trails maintenance at this park location.
Impact this position will have:
To enhance resource management and visitor experiences.
Responsibilities (duties and tasks)
Authorized work:
Assist with maintenance and resource management along trail:
- Mowing
- Trimming
- Removing brush no large than 3 inches in diameter
- Seed collecting
- Planting
- Identifying and removing invasive species
- Promoting personal safety through use of Personal Protective Equipment for all assigned tasks (PPE provided by park/trail site supervisor).
- Other duties as assigned
Restricted work:
The duties assigned to this volunteer position are laid out above. Tasks pertaining to other programs and projects at this park/trail or any other park or trail unit must be agreed upon in a separate Volunteer Agreement Form.
Qualifications Desired:
Volunteers must be able to:
- reach overhead
- bend over
- squat/kneel down without restriction
Safety Training:
DNR safety training must be completed prior to starting your volunteer experience if participating in activities involving any of these:
- Chainsaws
- Herbicide application
- ATVs
- Snowmobiles
- Watercraft
- Trailers
