This volunteer opportunity will help to enrich the life of an older person who is living at home through regular visits and social support.  By connecting with an older person, your friendship can help reduce social isolation and help maintain a sense of connection to the local community.

📍Location: BlueCare, D1 Warner Neighbourhood, 50 Ibis Avenue, Deagon Qld 4017

👉🏼 About Us: BlueCare's Community Neighbourhoods are local place-based teams
that deliver personalised care to people within the communities where they live.
Each customer is supported by a small dedicated team of staff who know the local
area and build ongoing relationships with the people they support. The Social
Support Group Volunteers older and frail aged people to enjoy safe and
meaningful outings that promote social connection, independence and well-being.
Whether visiting a cafe, market, park, garden or a community event, volunteers
help create enjoyable and memorable experiences while encouraging participation,
companionship and a fun.



💍 Commitment: 5-10 hours fortnightly

🕑 Times: 8.45am to 3.45pm to allow for buses to pick up and drop of clients
before returning to the centre

📅 Days: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays

 

What you’ll be doing:

You can choose from the following volunteer roles based on your interests and skills: 

Social Crew - Entertainment Volunteers

▪️
Entertainment through bringing joy by playing music and singing 

S

Social Crew - Activities in the Community

▪️Supporting community outings alongside a trained carer 
▪️Attending outings to cafes, restaurants, entertainment venues, BBQs, or fishing
▪️Supporting clients during travel 
▪️Observing and reporting any risks
▪️Assisting with ordering and collecting refreshments or meals 
▪️Helping with transport needs e.g. wheelie walkers, wheelchairs
