📃 This volunteer role will help to To enhance the wellbeing of residents by providing companionship and conversation to help create meaningful and socially connected experiences
This Volunteer role is ideally suited to people 18+yrs who would enjoy building meaningful connections to frail aged and older people through conversation, shared interests and a listening ear. Well-being Social volunteers help to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation for older people who live in a Residential Aged Care Facility.

📍Location: BlueCare, Labrador Gardens Residential Aged Care Facility, 83 Muir Street, Labrador Qld 4215
👉🏼 About Us: Labrador Gardens Aged Care Facility is located on the Northern end of the Gold Coast, just a short stroll from the Broadwater and close to Australia Fair. It is known for its comfortable, community-focused environmnent that is modern, purpose built and thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, safety and a true sense of home.
Every aspect including fully landscaped gardens, bright communal spaces, and outdoor courtyards encourage connection with family, friends and fellow residents. Private lounges and quite retreat areas offer opportunities for reflection and rest. The onsite cafe is a stand out feature & particular favourite of residents and visitors, serving barista made coffee, freshly made sandwiches and baked goods.
✅ What you’ll be doing: Social Crew - Activities Onsite ▪️Assisting with activity set-up and pack-down Social Crew - Activities in the Community
▪️Supporting community outings alongside a trained carer ▪️Attending outings to cafes, restaurants, entertainment venues, BBQs, or fishing
▪️Supporting clients during travel ▪️Observing and reporting any risks
▪️Assisting with ordering and collecting refreshments or meals ▪️Helping with transport needs e.g. wheelie walkers, wheelchairs
🎁 What’s in it for you?
🕑 Times: Full or part days - 2hr shifts between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm for friendly visitors and/or 9:00 am to 11.30am if helping with activities.
💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 1-2 hours fortnightly
📅 Days: Weekdays
☑️ Skills and experience important for this role include:
▪️Good communication skills and a positive, empathetic approach ▪️Friendly, patient and enjoy social interaction and conversation ▪️An interest in craft, music, art, age-appropriate games or gardening is desirable but not essential.
