TriCities - Volunteer Advisory Committee Position Description

Position Title: Volunteer Advisory Committee Member
Department: Volunteer Resource Department
Location: Port Moody
Reports To: Volunteer Resource Manager


Purpose:
The Volunteer Advisory Committee serves as a vital link between volunteers and the healthcare organization. The committee's primary purpose is to provide insights, recommendations, and support to enhance the volunteer program services and elevate the patient, public and provider care experiences. Committee members will advocate for the interests of volunteers and contribute to the development of initiatives that promote engagement and effectiveness within the organization.


Frequency of Meetings:

  • Monthly meetings, typically held on [Insert Day] from [Insert Time] to [Insert Time].
  • Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed for special projects or events.
  • Additional sub-committees may be formed as needed to support special projects or events.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attend Meetings: Actively participate in monthly meetings and engage in discussions about volunteer initiatives and strategies.
  • Provide Feedback: Share insights and feedback regarding volunteer experiences and patient care to inform decision-making.
  • Advocate for Volunteers: Represent the interests and concerns of volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and support.
  • Develop Initiatives: Collaborate with committee members to design and implement programs that enhance volunteer engagement and effectiveness.
  • Promote Awareness: Help raise awareness about the volunteer program within the organization and the broader community.
  • Network and Collaborate: Connect with other volunteers, healthcare providers, and community partners to strengthen the program.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of volunteer policies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous volunteer experience in healthcare or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Passion for community service and enhancing patient care.

Commitment:
Members are expected to commit to a minimum one-year term, with the possibility of renewal based on mutual agreement.
