The Opportunity

There’s more to being a professional engineer or geoscientist than simply completing a degree, which is a major accomplishment in its own right. New professionals must learn to navigate not only the post-university world, but also the unique challenges beginning a new career in a complex industry. If you’re an experienced Professional or a new Member in Training, don’t you wish you could have had someone to help guide you as you embarked on the next stage of your career?

On June 8^th, 2026 at the Platform Innovation Centre, APEGA will be hosting a networking mixer event from 5:00-7:30pm for engineering and geoscience MITs and students. We're looking for professional engineers and geoscientists to volunteer to network with the students and give them opportunity to make important business connections and ask questions about their future careers. If you’re someone that loves to meet new people, share your career story or provide mentorship, this is a great way to give back to the community! A selection of light bites and refreshments will be provided. Parking is available at the venue and will be covered by APEGA

The Impact

APEGA’s Industry Mixer volunteers create a positive impact in the community by meeting with engineering and geoscience students to provide advice and guidance on how to succeed in their chosen professions, how to get their feet in the doors of their careers and how to navigate the complexities of the engineering and geosciences industries in Alberta.
