Special Event or Field Trip - School Forest Overnight Chaperones - Maine 5th Grade
We are seeking Parent & Family Volunteers to be overnight School Forest Chaperones.
Volunteer Chaperones are needed for the overnight portion of the School Forest stay. Cabins are assigned by gender with 5-8 students in each cabin and a High School Student Teaching Assistant.
You will arrive in the evening as students are taking night showers and prepping for bed. You’ll be responsible for making sure they are settled in bed by 10:00pm and sleeping in the cabin to supervise overnight.
You will supervise students during 7:00am wake up for morning showers and getting ready for the day.
Volunteers are responsible for student safety, enforcing rules and quiet hours, and communicating with teachers and staff. Get a refresher on volunteer protocol and expectations here: Volunteer Handbook.
Female volunteers are required in females’ cabins and males required for males’ cabins. All qualified volunteers may sign up here and teachers will finalize the roster and details with volunteers as specific numbers of male and female volunteers are needed.
Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation. Please bring your own bedding.
Dates: January 26 and 27 (Monday and Tuesday overnight)
Hours: 8:30pm to 7:30am
