General Description

Green thumbs wanted! Assist Dakota County Parks growing native plants in our greenhouse. Tasks vary by day and by season, but may include washing and organizing growing containers, watering, transplanting seedlings, sowing seed and assisting with other miscellaneous projects.

Flexible, greenhouse season will be May – August 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Duties will vary at the greenhouse depending on time of season and project needs.
• Wear/bring: Dress in layers that can get wet and dirty, sun protection (hat/sunscreen), closed toe shoes, water bottle.

Minimum Qualifications

• Physically mobile and able to do manual work—light to moderate difficulty
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Enthusiasm for the outdoors and conservation
• Volunteer must be 16 years or older or have permission from guardian

Activity Level

Medium - May involve varying amounts of activity (long walks, rough terrain, and moderate physical exertion. May not be recommended for volunteers with physical limitations. Comfortable, sturdy shoes recommended.
