📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to guide and facilitate a smooth, welcoming journey for patients undergoing day surgery. As a Patient Concierge, you’ll ensure patients feel comfortable, supported, and at ease throughout their surgical visit. From escorting patients to their pre-surgery destination to providing companionship post-operation, your role will help enhance the patient experience during what can be an anxious time. Volunteers will commence on this opportunity approx. end of March to early April.
📍Location: St Andrew's Day Surgery Centre & Day Surgery Unit (Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill QLD 4000)
👉🏼 About Us: Our new day surgery facility, located across from St Andrew's Hospital, is designed to serve patients undergoing day surgeries including orthopaedics, dentistry, and tonsillectomies. A large portion of our patients will be children, and it will be a bustling environment where patients rely on friendly guidance.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to support patients at both this brand-new facility and St Andrew's Hospital for those looking for extra shifts.
✅ What you’ll be doing: ▪️ Greeting and escorting patients from the Ground Floor Admissions area to the Surgical Lounge on Level 4 ▪️ Assisting patients with completing necessary paperwork while maintaining confidentiality ▪️ Ensuring smooth patient flow by guiding them through the admissions process ▪️ Providing refreshments and friendly companionship in the post-operation recovery area ▪️ Performing basic administrative tasks as needed

🕑 Times: The Day surgery Centre will open approx. in May
Monday to Friday- Two shifts available per day: Morning Shift (7:00 am – 11:00 am, 2 people) Afternoon Shift (11:30 am – 3:30 pm, 1 person)
💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 3-4 hours a week 📅 Days: Weekdays
☑️ Skills and experience important for this role include: ▪️ Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others ▪️ Enjoy meeting new people and providing friendly support ▪️ Punctual, reliable, and mobile (comfortable using lifts) ▪️ Able to work independently or as part of a team ▪️ Enthusiastic about healthcare and patient support
