📃 This volunteer opportunity will help to support the delivery of meaningful, engaging and enjoyable activities to make sure participants feel included and enjoying themselves. 

The ideal person for this role should be friendly, warm and approachable with the ability to communicate with older people from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and courteous manner. 

The Activity All-rounder will be team-orientated and able to work collaboratively with other Volunteers and the Respite Centre Team in encouraging social connections and fostering vibrant, meaningful and fun experiences for participants. 

They should be reliable and willing to learn and participate in any training relevant to their role.

📍Location: BlueCare | Morayfield C4 Respite Care Centre, 12-16 Weier Road, Morayfield Qld 4506 

👉🏼 About Us: BlueCare, Morayfield Neighbourhood's Respite Day Centre is a welcoming community-based service that provides older people with opportunities to participate in social recreational and meaningful activities in a safe and supported environment. 

It offers companionship, a sense of belonging and engagement through a range of activities tailored to meet participants' interests, needs and abilities. 

The program is designed to promote wellbeing, independence and enhance the quality of life for older people. 

Respite Centres also provide valuable support for carers and families by offering planned periods of respite, knowing their loved one is receiving quality care, supervision and meaningful engagement throughout the day. 

✅ What you’ll be doing: 

🎁 What’s in it for you? 

🕑 Times: 8am to 4pm when the activity is out of centre as buses do not arrive back until after 3pm /10am to 2pm if activities are in centre    

💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 3-4 hours Fortnightly

☑️ Skills and experience important for this role include: 

       ▪️ No previous experience in aged care is required, however interests, hobbies or creative skills that could be shared with others would be welcomed. 

Applicants should have confidence in their ability to assist with activities and events; good listening,  clear communication  skills and be able to follow instructions. 

Applicants should have an understanding of respect, privacy and confidentiality, diversity and individual choice.
