General Description
The Dakota County Emergency Shelter for single adults has many moving parts and various tasks arise that create opportunities for community support. These tasks could range from assistance with cleaning and organizing, administrative tasks, or transporting donations. These projects occur sporadically. If you would like to be contacted in the event of an upcoming project, please sign up for this activity.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old or older to volunteer at the shelter.
- Must provide own transportation to and from the shelter.
- If providing participant-facing services, volunteers must complete a background check with Dakota County.
- Complete and adhere to Dakota County boundaries and ethics trainings.
Minimum Time Commitment
Varies by the shelter’s needs and the volunteer's schedule.
Activity Level
Mild - May include walking short distances over relatively level terrain. Location is accessible. Periods of standing or sitting will be required. Comfortable shoes recommended.
Required Training
Volunteers will receive basic training at the beginning of their service.
