Volunteer Posting: Front Desk Assistant Volunteer (Surrey-Delta Service Centre)

Currently, our Surrey-Delta Office is looking for Front Desk Assistant Volunteers to help with reception duties. Please see below for more details and how to apply:
Work Location:
#100 – 15117 101 Avenue, Surrey BC V3R 8P7
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting walk-in clients
- Answering phones
- Communicating with clients in their first language (Hindi/Punjabi, Farsi/Dari, Rohingya, and Tigrinya are needed most)
- Helping clients make appointments with staff and register for workshops, classes or events
- Promoting programs and services
- Assisting Program Assistants with administrative tasks when needed
Time Commitment and Schedule:
- 4-hour shifts (either 9:00am – 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 5:00pm), once a week, 3+ months
Qualifications Required:
- Intermediate Level of English or above
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset (Hindi, Punjabi, Rohingya and Tigrinya are needed most)
- 19 years or older
- Must be willing to conduct a criminal record check
- Customer service experience (preferred)

- Patient and a good listener
- Able to work in a fast-paced and multilingual environment
Orientation and Training Provided:
- General orientation to S.U.C.C.E.S.S.
- Specific orientation to the volunteer position

Supervision:
- This position will be supervised by a S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Senior Settlement Practitioner
