📃 This volunteer role will help to To enhance the wellbeing of residents by providing companionship and conversation to help create meaningful and socially connected experiences
This Volunteer role is ideally suited to people 18+yrs who would enjoy building meaningful connections to frail aged and older people through conversation, shared interests and a listening ear. Well-being Social volunteers help to reduce feelings of lonliness and isolation for older people who live in a Residential Aged Care Facility.

📍Location: BlueCare | Woodlands Lodge Residential Aged Care Facility, 29 Melbourne Road, Arundel Qld 4214
👉🏼 About Us: BlueCare Residential Aged Care Facilities provide a friendly, inclusive and person-centred lifestyle with opportunities for residents to engage in various group social and recreational activities. However, some residents may be unable to leave their room because they may be infirmed or unwell. Volunteers help to bridge the gap by visiting residents individually offering friendship through conversation, reading together, sharing stories, playing board and card games or just spending quiet time together. Woodlands Lodge at Arundel is home to over 70 residents and while it may be one of BlueCare's older aged care facilities it has a cosy, homely atmosphere with a strong sense of community at the heart of everyday life. Residents are supported by caring staff working closely with volunteers to create opportunities for companionship, connection, enjoyment and well-being.

🕑 Times: Time of the Day: Mornings 9:30am to 11:30am OR afternoons 1:00pm to 3.30pm flexible
💍 Commitment: Get started from as little as 1-2 hours fortnightly
📅 Days: Weekdays

▪️Good communication skills and a positive, empathetic approach ▪️Friendly, patient and enjoy social interaction and conversation ▪️An interest in craft, music, art, age-appropriate games or gardening is desirable but not essential.
