Drop-in Volunteer Opportunities - Drop-in Volunteer Opportunities

Wild River State Park has group volunteer events that are open to anyone. Activities include:
- Collect Prairie Seeds! (harvesting seed by hand from native prairie plants),
- Pull Garlic Mustard! (hand pulling and bagging),
- Oak Savanna Restoration! (brush cutting with handsaws and loppers),
- Cut Buckthorn! (cutting buckthorn with loppers and handsaws).
- Buckthorn Buddies! (same as above, but with soup, bread, and socializing before the work)
You do not need to be a registered volunteer for the above opportunities. Do not apply for these through Better Impact. Instead, please visit the event calendar to see naturalist programs and volunteer events. You can use the search feature in the calendar. Type "volunteer," click "go," and page through the months to find drop-in volunteer opportunities.
If you want to volunteer regularly, email sean.hoppes@state.mn.us or call Sean at 651-583-2125 x227. When such programs are open you will see them posted on the MyImpact page for Wild River State Park.
