Programmatic - Storytime Assistant
Do you enjoy interacting with children? Do you want to assist with storytime?
Berryessa Branch Library is seeking a Storytime Assistant to help with Tuesday and/or Thursday morning storytime.
How You Will Make a Difference
Give children the joy of reading by helping librarians with their storytimes. These programs serve families with children that can range from ages 0 to 5. Each program occurs in the Community Room unless certain conditions arise.
Volunteers are needed to:
- Assist with storytime setup and breakdown
- Assist with crowd control (collecting storytime tickets, manage community room doors, and guiding families to appropriate spaces)
- Communicate with the Volunteer Coordinator regarding program needs
- Assist with distributing and collecting storytime props and materials
- Help reset room

Commitment/Schedule:
Must commit to program schedule for at least 6 months. Currently need volunteer on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays at 10:15 AM to 12:15 PM (cannot flex).
Prospective Volunteers Should:
- Be age 18 or up
- Be comfortable in communicating and interacting with others of all ages
- Be reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Complete a fingerprint background check, at no cost to you. Only required if you are 18 years or older
Language Skills
- Bilingual skills are highly desired, but not required

- Age Must be at least 18+
- Oral and written communication skills in English Must be at least Medium
