Taum Sauk Mountain State Park Hosting Duties
- Collect camp fees regularly, entering all relevant information the RS2 reservation system.
- Follow the Missouri State Parks cash handling procedure when handling camp fees.
- Inform patrons of park rules
- Make determinations when to contact supervisor or law-enforcement personnel.
- Clean the pit-latrines at the trail head, campground, and by the MDC fire tower as needed.
- Clean fire-rings and grills as needed.
- Pick up trash from the park and MDC fire tower area.
- Light maintenance, including, but not limited to weed-eating, leaf blowing, mowing, etc.
Other information/Requirements
- Hosts will work approximately 35 – 40 hours each week. (Roughly 5 hours each day)
- Host must work independently, making determinations when to contact supervisor or law-enforcement personnel. The closest park staff is located at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park, approximately 25 miles away.
- A maximum stay of three months will be permitted
- Park will reimburse campground host (maximum of $200) for travel to the site.
- Use of own vehicle may be required and will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rate

- Sterling Volunteers Background Check Determination Must be Passed
