Volunteer with City of Mount Gambier

The City of Mount Gambier recognises the value of volunteering and the incredible contribution volunteers make to our community. Their dedication helps deliver programs and services that enrich life across our city. Volunteering is a great way to connect, build skills, and make a real difference.

Our Volunteer Programs

Parks and Gardens

Parks and Gardens volunteers support the care, presentation and enjoyment of our natural spaces. Their contributions include assisting with path and garden maintenance, caring for plantings and natural habitats.

ReUse Market and Waste Transfer Station

At the Waste Transfer Station our handy volunteers fix donated broken furniture and keep it out of landfill. Our ReUse Market volunteers sort, wash and display donated items. Their efforts help reduce waste and support a more sustainable community.

Youth Activation Group

Our passionate team of youth volunteers explore and discuss key issues impacting young people in Mount Gambier, providing valuable insights and perspectives to help shape future youth growth.

Events

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting community events such as the Christmas Parade and Australia Day celebrations. They help design and maintain Christmas floats in the lead-up to the parade, and assist with a variety of activities across the city on event days.

Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre

Riddoch volunteers support a range of activities including exhibition openings and gallery tours. They also contribute to exhibition installations, helping to ensure smooth transitions between displays.

Library

Library volunteers assist with home delivery service for people in the community who are unable to attend the library in person, help with shelving returned books and in the delivery of programs such as 3D printing and arts and crafts.
