We consistently receive more qualified applications than we have available space. Applicants are prioritized by those that closely align with our current program needs and requirements.
Denial Decisions
Due to the competitive nature of our application review and a limited number of seats, we are unable to admit all promising applicants. While acceptance decisions are final, applicants who are denied are welcome to apply for a future semester.
General Criteria:
- Resident of South Jersey
- Reliable access to vehicle, valid driver's license
- COVID Vaccination with single booster
- Influenza Vaccination
- Adherence to all Samaritan policies and procedures
- Available Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (No Weekends)
Social Work Externship-specific Criteria:
- MSW program, 2nd year
- Full academic year only
- Must be:
- able to commit a minimum of 24 hours/week
- available Tue and/or Thu (for interdisciplinary group meetings)
- available the 2nd full week of the month prior to your rotation to participate in Samaritan's Orientation Pathways
- Qualities:
- emotional maturity
- ability to assimilate information
- problem-solving skills
- technical skills
- ability to work independently
- mental health well-being
Clinical Experience Deadlines
APN/RN Rotations:
- Applications accepted continually
- Application Review and Decisions:
- Spring Rotation: 10/31
- Fall Rotation: 3/31
Social Work Externship:
- Fall Application Deadline: March 31
- Interviews follow
- Decision by May 1
