RAICES Group Application

Thank you for showing interest in applying to have your group/organization volunteer with RAICES! 

Thank you for your interest in applying to have your student group or community organization volunteer with RAICES! 

Currently, there are volunteer activities available to student or community organization and corporate groups remotely and in-person. Please note that we only have capacity to coordinate in-person activities for groups of no more than 15 members at a time (may vary based on COVID protocol). 

In-person Activities (Depending on Organization Needs and Priorities): 

• Assisting with our Refugee Resettlement Needs (TX)

• Donation Management (San Antonio, TX)

• Seasonal Community Health Fair (San Antonio, TX)

Remote Activities: 

• Translator & Interpreter Team

• Advocacy & Outreach (Phone Banking/ Text Banking Advocate) 

• Community Fundraising

• In-kind Donation Drive 

We kindly request at least 4 weeks for in-person activities to ensure we gather the essential information and can effectively coordinate volunteer activities to best meet your needs and those of the people we serve.

Remote activities are typically more flexible and can be started at the convenience of a group or organizations depending on availability. 

Below is our process for coordinating group volunteer activities:

1. Group leader/facilitator submits a group/organization volunteer application;

2. A RAICES staff member reviews your group's application and qualifications to see what activities your group potentially qualifies for;

3. Our staff will communicate with you regarding logistics about the activities ,i.e. number of volunteers, names of expected volunteers, times, feasability

4. Once the activities and date(s) are confirmed, group members 18 or older will complete background checks (if necessary)  and all group members fill out the required volunteer forms (not required for one time activities);

5. Your group join us to volunteer (in-person or remotely) and receives an orientation or training prior to your first shift.

6. Your group will will be added to our database so we can continue to contact you about new and existing volunteer opportunities.
