Volunteer Policies
Teter Retreat and Organic Farm volunteers are an essential part of our community.
This is a working farm. Dress in sturdy, weather appropriate clothing.
Carry a water bottle and anything else you may require to maintain your health while on site.
Smoking and firearms are prohibited.
Ask lots of questions. If you are uncertain of how to do a task, please ask and don't give up until it is clear.
Please decline tasks you feel you cannot safely perform.
In order to do this hard work, our team operates with trust and kindness, assuming the best and seeking to uplift each other.
Things do go awry on farms. Feedback between all parties must remain constructive, kind, and encouraging.
Teter Organic Farm commits to provide equitable and sustainable access and opportunities for all people regardless of race, creed, socioeconomic status, gender, physical ability or orientation. We understand that resilience and safety are the result of intentional action and seek to be a force or healing in the food system and our community.
You are encouraged to share information about the farm on social media. Please keep posts kind and respectful.
Concerns should be brought to your Volunteer Team Leader or the Farm Manager.
