I acknowledge I am medically fit to participate in Graffiti Removal Day and consent to:
- Wearing personal protection equipment issued by the Site Supervisor.
- Following instructions of the Site Supervisor.
- Completing site induction prior to starting work.
- Having photos taken of you, used in the promotion of Graffiti Removal Day
To help you have a safe and enjoyable day we would ask you read the information on this sheet very carefully.
Clothing and footwear
Cleaning graffiti can be messy. Please ensure you are wearing old clothing, preferably a long sleeve shirt, full length trousers or jeans and fully enclosed shoes.
Working in the Sun
Your clean-up site may be located in the sun. Please ensure you protect yourself from the Sun by wearing a hat and applying sunscreen prior to starting work.
Prior to starting work your Site Supervisor will explain the works to be undertaken on the site, potential hazards and safety measures. It is a requirement all volunteers complete the training for your site before starting work.
Personal protection gear
Graffiti Removal Day will supply gloves, eye protection and overalls to all volunteers. This equipment is to be worn at all times while handling graffiti removal chemicals. Used gloves are to be returned to the Site Supervisor for disposal.
Graffiti removal liquid
Graffiti removal liquids have the potential to be dangerous when not used correctly or safely. You will receive instructions from your Site Supervisor about the use and handling of these products. It is a requirement you follow these instructions.
You will receive instructions from your Site Supervisor about the use and handling of the paint you are using on your site. It is a requirement you follow these instructions.
Hand washing facilities are available on site. Please wash your hands prior to leaving the site and before eating or drinking.
First aid kits will be available on site. Clean water and a bucket will be available on site.
All volunteers must be over the age of 12. Volunteers aged between 12 and 16 are not permitted to use graffiti removal liquid but are encouraged to participate in painting. A supervision ratio of one adult to six children is recommended.
