Volunteer Application for the Wake County Animal Center

Please read the following in its entirety if you are interested in becoming a Wake County Animal Center volunteer. 

Welcome to the Wake County Animal Center's Volunteer Program. To get started, you'll have to create an account below (on the bottom left). 

Please keep the following in mind:
- The Wake County Animal Center does not have a Community Service program. If you are applying to volunteer for legally-required community service hours, our Volunteer Program is not for you and no Community Service paperwork will be signed by our Volunteer Coordinator. This rule is only referencing legally-required community service. We do accept volunteers who are seeking volunteerism for school requirements, resumes, college or work applications, etc. 

- We can not allow anyone under eighteen years of age to volunteer with us. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you are under eighteen, your application will be automatically rejected and you will not receive an orientation email from us. 

- Due to the nature of our organization and the safety protocols we have, there are required orientations, trainings, waivers, and more that are needed before anyone can volunteer with us. This makes the onboarding process longer than other volunteer programs and makes it impossible for us to participate in single day projects. If you're looking for a single-day "Give Back Day" for your work or hobby group, we will not be able to accommodate you. We can, however, provide insightful tours of our facility and a behind-the-scenes look at Wake County's only open intake animal shelter. 

By submitting an application, you confirm that you are at least eighteen years of age, will not request community service forms to be signed, and that all information supplied on this profile is true and correct.
