Privacy Statement
Privacy Statement for My Impact
We use the volunteer information management system known as My Impact
(‘our system’), which is provided by Better Impact Pty Ltd (‘Better Impact’).
When you provide us with information, such as your name, contact details,
and other details relating to your engagement with us, either by entering that
information in our system, or otherwise providing it to us, you acknowledge that we will use our system to collect,
store, and use that information. If you do not provide us with this information we may be unable to engage you as a
volunteer.
We encourage you to read and review the Better Impact privacy policy, which will help you understand how Better
Impact manages the personal information you provide to it through your use of our system.
Use
We will not use or disclose your personal information except when you have authorised us to do so, as provided in this
privacy policy, or otherwise required or permitted by law, including in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
The information you provide us and/or that we upload to our system will be used by us to:
∂ engage with you effectively, including to respond to your enquiries, communicate with you, and provide you
with information that you have requested;
∂ provide you with other information (including news and event information) where you have requested to
receive such information;
∂ improve and enhance your experience as a volunteer with us; and
∂ deliver the functionality of and provide us with support in using our system, and assist our software to function.
Disclosure
We may disclose your information to Better Impact so that Better Impact may provide us with support in using our
system.
Further, we may disclose your personal information to other divisions of the Cancer Society if necessary (for example,
if you move and your new location is within another division).
Right to access and request correction
It is important to us that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete, and up to date. If you are aware that
this is not the case, you can access, update, and review your information held by us by logging into our system using
your secure login details. Or if would like us to correct your information, or if you would like to access you
information please contact the volunteer manager or coordinator of your Division. You can contact them through the
system.
Retention
We will hold any information we collect about you for as long as it is necessary for us to do so. If you terminate your
engagement with us, we will retain information unless you request that we delete it from our system. Please submit
requests to the volunteer manager or coordinator of your Division.
Changes
We reserve the right to change our privacy statement from time to time by publishing the revised privacy statement on
our system. Please check this privacy statement regularly for modifications and updates. If you continue to use our
system or if you provide any personal information after we make changes to this privacy statement, this constitutes
your acceptance of those changes and the updated privacy statement.
