For Volunteering:
Know Before You Apply:
COVID-19 Immunization: You must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Covid-19 Immunization Policy (HR-07-248) or proof of valid medical exemption.
Police Record Checks: Applicants aged 18 and over require a Police Records Check in order to volunteer. Applicants can be reimbursed for PRC costs after completing 10 volunteer hours.
Child and Youth Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering and are under 16 years of age, please contact us. All volunteers under 18 years of age must print, sign and submit this Parental Consent Form as part of the application process.
Health Assessment: St. Joseph's Care Group does not reimburse for any associated costs.
Volunteer Opportunities: There are areas of St. Joseph's Care Group that do not offer volunteer opportunities. As well, volunteering does not allow you the opportunity to shadow medical staff, practice clinical/technical skills or observe or assist in medical procedures.
References and Documentation of Volunteering: After six months of active volunteering, or at the discretion of the Volunteer Coordinator, we may provide a reference or letter confirming your volunteer work. Active volunteering means coming in a minimum of once a week, every week, for six months.
