California State Parks Duty Statement

Volunteers are direct representatives of California State Parks, and the Department of Parks and Recreation and must carry themselves with professionalism and courtesy towards all of our visitors.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with other Volunteers, Program Leads and DPR staff is necessary. A willingness to learn accurate information regarding areas of historical, natural, and cultural significance and attend occasional training and meetings is required.
