Thank you for your interest in the Rutgers Master Gardener Program in Union County.   Our 2025 Master Gardener training program will begin in January 2025. 

Union County will be participating in a new pilot Rutgers Master Gardener Volunteer training program.  Classes will be held on Wednesday mornings at the Trailside Nature and Science Center, 452 New Providence Road in Mountainside.  The new course will feature horticultural training with an emphasis on volunteer training.  There will be nine counties participating in this new pilot program.  

Rutgers is hosting orientation Zoom meetings for people interested in becoming volunteer Master Gardeners.  The purpose of this Orientation is to provide you with all the information you need to decide if becoming Rutgers Master Gardener is right for you.  We will review the program's role, structure, training, and commitment.

If you are interested in participating in our 2025 training program, please register for one the orientation sessions being offered twice a week till the beginning of December.

Space is limited to 40 participants for each session, allowing plenty of time and opportunity for questions and discussion.  Register today to secure your spot in an orientation session!  Additional information for applying to the program in Union County will be provided to those who attend the session. We will be accepting 25 volunteers for the 2025 training program.
