Junior Zoo Crew Commitment policy
To be considered for Junior Zoo Crew, applicants must be at least 14 by May 25, and no older than 17 years on August 11, 2023. Applicants must complete ALL parts of the application, and attend an interview as part of the selection process. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. Applicants will be notified by email whether or not they have been accepted to Junior Zoo Crew within 7 days of having their interview at the zoo.
NOTE: If you are selected for the 2023 Junior Zoo Crew session, you must attend MANDATORY training sessions, on Monday, June 5 AND Tuesday, June 6 from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. No exceptions.
Junior Zoo Crew is a hands-on educational program. In order to defray expenses associated with this experience, there is a necessary tuition fee of $76.32 for Tautphaus Park Zoo Society members, and $95.40 for non-members (tax included). This fee goes toward training materials, a uniform shirt, nametag, and a celebration at the end of the session. Instructions on paying the tuition fee are provided upon acceptance to the crew. Scholarships may be available for qualifying applicants.
If you have not done Junior Zoo Crew before, please have a letter of recommendation ready to upload BEFORE starting the application.
