Volunteer Policies

  • We do not accept those who need court-mandated community service hours.
  • Docents must be 18 years or older (exceptions may be made in special circumstances).
  • Background checks are required for individuals 18 years and older.
  • Docents are expected to provide a year long commitment with a minimum of 70 hours per year.
  • Docents must be comfortable with public speaking, working with animals and children, and handling inclement weather.
  • Docents must have a respectful, responsible, team-work focused, positive attitude.
