* The City of Burleson does not accept court ordered community service applicants. Application is not a guarantee of acceptance.
Situations arise within City departments that require employees and volunteers to deal with confidential information. Volunteers will be expected to maintain the utmost professionalism when dealing with information and records that are confidential.
Library and BRiCk Volunteers: All Library patron and BRiCk member records are confidential; this includes patron requests.
Per City policy, volunteer applicants 17 and older must pass a background check.

Release of Personal Data:
I hereby authorize any investigator or duly accredited representative of the City of Burleson to obtain any information from criminal justice agencies. This information may include, but is not limited to driving, arrest and conviction records. I hereby direct you to release such information upon request of the bearer. I understand that the information released is for official use by the City and may be disclosed to such third parties as necessary in the fulfillment of official responsibilities.
E-signature policy:
I understand that if I am approved to volunteer, it will be at the discretion of the City of Burleson, per policy. I understand that volunteering for the City is “at will” which means that the City has no obligation to continue to retain me in the future.
By submitting my application online, I am authorizing the City of Burleson to investigate and verify any representations made by me, either orally or in writing. I hereby release the City and any individual who provides or obtains information for this application from liability. I am also aware that my application is subject to the Texas open records law and may be released as a public document. I also understand that this application is the property of the City of Burleson and will become a part of my volunteer file if I am accepted. Misrepresentations or false statements will result in failure to be considered for volunteering and/or dismissal, if accepted. This action may happen at any time, whether false information is discovered prior to or after acceptance.
