Welcome To The Water Docs Team
Welcome to the 2019 Water Docs Film Festival
We are delighted you're interested in joining us for this exciting and inspiring event!
While our Design Team works all year long to plan the festival and our other programs, the event itself couldn't possibly function without an engaged, friendly and helpful team of volunteers like you to ensure everything runs smoothly and our patrons have a great experience.
Thanks for stepping up to this great opportunity. We look forward to meeting & working with you!
~~~ Water Docs Volunteer Policy ~~~
Every volunteer receives a free Water Docs Film Festival t-shirt. Your t-shirt must be worn during your volunteer shift so that our audience can identify volunteers on shift.
Volunteers must be above 16 years old. You'll need to work at least one 3-4 hour shift to receive a full festival pass for the screening sessions. If you would like to attend the Opening Night Screening and Reception as our guest, you must work more than one shift during the festival run.
Any volunteer under the age of 18 years must have written consent of a parent or guardian before volunteering. Students volunteering for credit hours for their school, must submit their volunteer form and/or school name. Both will be accepted by email or in person on Training Day.
Be sure to carefully review your calendar and schedule your shifts before the festival. Cancellations must be made with the Volunteer Coordinator at least 48 hrs before your shift starts.
Working alongside our team, volunteers are expected to be the face of the festival. Our rules of conduct will protect the interest and safety of all volunteers, staff and Water Docs. The following are only some examples of inappropriate conduct which could lead to dismissal:
- Theft or inappropriate removal or possession of Water Docs’ property or that of any Water Docs volunteer, staff, agent or visitor
- Volunteering under the influence of alcohol, legal or illegal drugs and/or illegal or unauthorized possession, distribution, sale, transfer, or use of alcohol, legal or illegal drugs in the volunteer environment
- Creating a disturbance on Water Docs premises, at sponsored activities or in areas which could jeopardize the safety of others
- Lack of cooperation and other disrespectful conduct
Volunteers must attend Training Sessions to learn more about the Water Docs program and staff, expectations and roles, benefits, schedules and other resources. It is mandatory for volunteers to attend one 2 hour Water Docs Volunteer Training session on either March 15 or March 17.
Deadline for Application Forms is March 12th
