What to expect when you apply to become a St.Amant Volunteer:

Applying to volunteer is much like applying for a job, we take many factors into consideration before accepting volunteers to assist with St.Amant programs. We take our responsibility for people we support seriously, we screen all applicants thoroughly.  Completing your application as thoroughly as possible will help us assess your suitability for volunteering in a health care environment.

Please note to be a volunteer at St.Amant you need to be at least 12 years of age; and a parental/guardian form will need to filled out and brought to your interview.

Once our office receives your application, a St.Amant Volunteer Services staff member will call you to arrange a date and time for an interview and will ask you to submit two (2) references at the time of the interview. The interview is one way of finding out more about you and your interests.

During the interview, feel free to ask any questions you may have about volunteering with the St.Amant.  We will also discuss expectations of volunteers and the importance of confidentiality.  Depending on the volunteer role(s) that you are interested in, a criminal record check, a Child Abuse Registry and Adult Abuse Registry check may be required. You will be notified of any required checks during your interview.

If a successful match is made between your skills and abilities and an available position, St.Amant Volunteer Services staff will offer you a volunteer position.  If you decide to accept the offer, a start date will be determined.

All onsite volunteers must be fully vaccinated, provide proof of vaccination and follow St.Amant's Covid-19 guidelines.

All St.Amant volunteers must attend the volunteer orientation, have their photo taken for photo id; and have all forms signed before volunteering. You will then receive specific training for your volunteer position on your first shift. You are now ready to begin volunteering!
