Battery Park City Authority Volunteer Waiver

1. I understand the commitment of the Volunteer Program, which is an unpaid position.
   1. Ongoing volunteers meet through October 31^st, from 7:30am to 12:00pm each Wednesday.
   2. Corporate or “Team” events will meet on a one-time basis at an agreed upon time and location.
2. As a volunteer, I am viewed by the public as a representative of BPCA and will act courteously, respectfully and appropriately at all times towards the pubic, other volunteers and BPCA staff. 
3. I will dress appropriately for outdoor work, which includes wearing work gloves, protective footwear, rain gear and face coverings.
   1. Ongoing volunteers will be issued a BPCA Volunteer T-Shirt and face covering.
   2. Corporate or “Team” volunteers will be required to bring their own face coverings.
4. I understand that BPCA has a commitment to the safety of its staff, volunteers and the public. Good safety practices, which include adherence to all applicable New York State COVID-19 guidance, must be observed at all times.  Safety precautions will be reviewed with all volunteers. 
5. I shall hold in confidence all information obtained in the course of volunteer service, whether that information is obtained through written records, verbal interaction or other observation.
6. I understand that the volunteer work includes, but is not limited to lifting (10lbs or greater), pushing, pulling and bending.  I agree that I will only perform what I feel comfortable doing and that I am physically fit to perform these duties and do not have a condition, sickness or disease that impairs my abilities to participate or presents a danger to my well-being.  
7. I understand that if I am injured or leave the work site, I will alert my Supervisor immediately.
8. I consent to emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness while participating as a volunteer. 
9. I give consent to BPCA to copyright or publish all photographs or videotapes in which I appear while enrolled as a volunteer. I agree that these items can be used for public displays and social media.

I understand that after reading this document, I am hereby releasing the Battery Park City Authority, the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy Corporation, the State and City of New York and all employees, officers, designees, volunteers and other persons and entities involved in their activities, from all liability for any injuries, personal and property damage and other claims related to activities undertaken as a volunteer:
