El Paso County Volunteer Program Agreement
I affirm that the information in my application is accurate and complete. I understand that this information is subject to verification by El Paso County. I give El Paso County permission to inquire about my qualifications and/or character. I understand that the information requested is for the purpose of a background/reference check which may be made by phone, writing, or via the internet and may include present and past employers, motor vehicle, and police records.
I authorize any person holding information related to my application to release it to El Paso County, if requested. I understand that the information provided by me may be used for the purpose of determining my eligibility for the El Paso County Volunteer Program. I hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless any government entity, employer, or person providing or receiving records and information about me. I understand that any false information or omission in my application may be justification for denying my volunteer application or terminating my volunteer service with El Paso County.
If I am selected as a participant in the El Paso County Volunteer Program, I understand that I am not an employee of El Paso County. I will not receive any compensation for my services. No contract or agreement of employment is created by this Agreement, or any other written or oral representations made in connection with the Volunteer Program or in connection with any other program of El Paso County, As a volunteer, I understand that El Paso County will not provide me with any employee benefits it provides to its employees, such as accident insurance, death benefits, or compensation for lost time due to injury. I further understand that El Paso County does not carry general liability insurance covering volunteers.
As a volunteer, I agree to:
- Perform to the best of my ability, the tasks as outlined in my job description, or the tasks established by my supervisor;
- Report to work on time, when scheduled. If I am unable to timely report, I will notify my supervisor;
- Accept supervision;
- Maintain confidentiality of matters and information I become privy to due to my volunteer status with El Paso County;
- Observe El Paso County goals and objectives; and
- Give my supervisor adequate notice before termination as a volunteer.
I understand and agree that El Paso County and I both have the right to end my volunteer relationship with El Paso County at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.
I grant El Paso County permission to use, edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute photographs, videotapes, or other recordings or visual likenesses of me that are made during the course of my participation in the El Paso County Volunteer Program, to include any and all El Paso County publications; broadcasts; and website entries, without receiving payment or any other consideration.
This Agreement will be in effect throughout the duration of my time serving as a volunteer with the El Paso County.
Volunteers will be asked to sign and date a copy of this agreement which will be uploaded to their volunteer account.
Parents or legal guardians of minors will need to read and acknowledge this agreement by signing and dating the agreement as indicated below.
I am the parent or legal guardian of the volunteer who is under the age of 18. By signing this Agreement, I acknowledge and agree that my child may participate in the El Paso County Volunteer Program. I further agree that my child will abide by this Agreement.
