Welcome to the youth volunteer application form for Kisharon Langdon. We very much look forward to you joining us.
We accept volunteers who are 16 and over, but we will require parent/guardian consent. If you are under 16 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to volunteer, except in Childs Hill Library where we will consider younger volunteers from age 14.
I understand that the information I provide in this application will be processed by Kisharon Langdon in accordance with Data Protection Laws and will be stored on a computer database. Kisharon Langdon will collect the following:
- Your name
- Your address
- Your Date of Birth
- Your e-mail address
- Your phone numbers
- Your health and support needs (if any)

I confirm that the information I provide in this application is true and accurate and understand that any incorrect or misleading information may result in my volunteering placement being terminated without notice.
I understand that I will be required to disclose ALL criminal convictions, cautions or pending court cases if the volunteering position I am applying for is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Where a DBS check is not required I will be required to sign a Disclaimer noting any criminal convictions.
I have the legal right to volunteer in the UK (please contact the Volunteering Team before applying if you are unsure).
I understand I will only be able to commence volunteering for Kisharon Langdon after successfully completing the following:
- Application form (the submission of this online application form). If you require a paper or Easy Read version please contact the Volunteering Team.
- Interview
- Two satisfactory references
- Criminal records check (required for most of our volunteering roles)
- Proof of right to volunteer in the UK - usually verified by sight of your passport
- Any mandatory training required for your role
KISHARON LANGDON WORKS WITH VULNERABLE ADULTS AND CHILDREN. FOR MOST OF OUR ROLES VOLUNTEERS (age 16 and above) ARE SUBJECT TO A DISCLOSURE & BARRING SERVICE (DBS) CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.
DBS CHECKS MUST BE APPLIED FOR AND THE CERTIFICATE RECEIVED BEFORE VOLUNTEERS CAN BEGIN VOLUNTEERING AT KISHARON LANGDON.

Kisharon Langdon works with vulnerable adults and children. Volunteers may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring service (DBS) criminal record check dependent on the volunteering role. Having a criminal record would not necessarily debar you from volunteering. Each case is considered on its own merits.
DBS checks must be applied for and the certificate received before volunteers can begin volunteering at Kisharon.
