Affirmation of Truthful Information

By agreeing to the terms and conditions and submitting this Volunteer Application, I acknowledge this information is true and accurate.

Reference Check Agreement

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, I understand that by providing references within my volunteer application, I have taken the responsibility to notify the persons that they will be listed as a reference, and that I authorize the City of Leduc to contact these individuals regarding my application.  

Volunteering Agreement

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, I understand and agree to abide by the agreements, codes of conduct, and any other policies, procedures, or guidelines the City of Leduc has in place in regard to volunteers who take on roles within the Cities programs, services, activities, and events.

Volunteer Waiver

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, I understand that there is an inherent risk of injury which may occur during the course of my volunteer activities with the City of Leduc. I am aware and understand that while volunteering for the City of Leduc I will be covered by the Workers Compensation Board in the event of being injured during the course of these activities and that I will receive benefits as defined by the Workers Compensation Act (coverage will not extend to third party community organizations).

I hereby release the City of Leduc, their officers, agents, employees and volunteers from any and all claims or liability for death, personal injury or property damaged of any kind incurred by myself or any family member howsoever the case arising out of, or in the course of, my participation in volunteer activities for the City of Leduc.

Criminal Record Check Agreement

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, I confirm that I do not have any criminal charges or convictions to disclose. I understand that Criminal Record Checks including or excluding Vulnerable Sector Checks may be required for some positions that involve the handling of cash or a role involving vulnerable populations such as children, the disabled, and the elderly. If you are unwilling to provide us with the information necessary to complete a Police Security Clearance Check, we cannot provide you with the opportunity to volunteer in positions of trust with the City of Leduc. However, if you have criminal charges to disclose, it does not necessarily preclude you from volunteering, please contact the Community Development Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@leduc.ca or at 780 980 7166 if you have any questions. 

Collection and use of personal information:

By agreeing with the terms and conditions, I understand that the personal information requested on this website is being collected to determine whether an applicant is qualified for an appointment to a volunteer position with the City of Leduc in accordance with Section 33(c) of the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act) and will be protected under Part 2 of that Act.

By creating an account and completing an application with the City of Leduc, you agree to the following:

1. That you grant the City of Leduc, the right to the information you provide which will be used to aid in the volunteer recruitment and screening process, maintain accurate records of volunteer involvement, and to provide contact information for the program.
2. That you acknowledge and consent to the City of Leduc providing limited personal information such as name, telephone number, and email address to community partner organizations only following your request to sign up for a volunteer activity posted for the community partner organization on the City of Leduc Better Impact web page.

It is important to note that your agreement to the collection of personal information is voluntary, and this consent may be revoked by you at any time.

However, if you revoke your agreement to the collection of personal information you will be unable to continue using the City of Leduc Better Impact website as your personal information is necessary for its operation.
