HIAS Pennsylvania Interpretation and Translation Volunteer Program

Volunteer Overview and Onboarding Process

Volunteer Engagement Philosophy

HIAS Pennsylvania (HIAS PA) offers social and legal services to immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. HIAS PA relies upon the compassion, expertise, and commitment of volunteers to enhance programming quality and to address timely needs. Moreover, volunteers serve as a voice in the community by recruiting new volunteers, educating about immigration-related issues, and pushing for social changes to make and keep Philadelphia a welcoming city for all. HIAS PA invites all who wish to volunteer and does not discriminate based on race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, national/regional origin, language or disability.

Volunteer Process

After completing the interpretation and translation application, HIAS PA staff will review it to assure that you qualify for our volunteer programming. If approved, you will be notified when volunteer opportunities are made available through this volunteer webpage.

HIAS PA benefits from volunteer labor and we commit to supporting and respecting our volunteers.
