Welcome to Hospice East Bay's volunteer portal! We thank you for your interest in volunteering to help patients and families in your community. Please read the following before completing an application.

Hospice East Bay offers a diverse range of volunteer opportunities, from providing support to patients and their families to offering grief support for both children and adults. We also offer opportunities to assist with administrative tasks. Training sessions for these volunteer roles are held throughout the year, ensuring everyone is well-prepared to make a meaningful impact.

All volunteers are required to undergo a background check, provide necessary documentation, and complete orientation and required training. We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently deny entry into the volunteer program. Volunteers represent our organization and must adhere to its policies and guidelines.

Volunteers are expected to commit, on average, to one hour per week for their assigned tasks. Additionally, volunteers should plan to participate in at least three enrichment activities per year, offered throughout the year to enhance their experience and engagement.

Volunteers must also maintain compliance with online education requirements, a valid driver’s license, applicable vaccinations (or documentation of vaccine exemption), relevant professional certifications, and any other required categories.

Communication with volunteers will primarily take place via text and email, and they should be prepared to stay connected through these methods.
