Volunteer Policies and Agreement
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. We greatly appreciate your group’s commitment to supporting our community and contributing to the work we do.
Volunteer Opportunities
Groups may be scheduled to support one or more of the following activities:
- Hamper preparation
- Assisting with food distribution
- Warehouse organization and stocking
- Supporting special projects or high‑volume donation days
Our team will schedule your group based on organizational needs and operational availability for the selected date.
Group Volunteer Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 volunteers and maximum of 10 volunteers per shift;

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old (Grade 10 and above);
- Ability to stand for the full-4.5 hours shift;
- Ability to safely lift and bend with 20-40 lbs;
- Basic English communication skills (verbal and comprehension).
Group Volunteer Agreement:
By participating in a group volunteer shift with SFB, all group members agree to the following:

We will act with integrity and uphold the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with volunteers, clients, staff, and community partners.
- We will arrive on time and remain for the full duration of our scheduled shift.

We will follow the instructions and decisions of SFB staff and complete all assigned tasks responsibly and to the best of our ability.

We will immediately report any unsafe conditions or practices to SFB staff.

We will treat all clients, community partners, SFB staff, and fellow volunteers with patience, respect, and dignity at all times.

We will not take photos of clients, and we will request consent from SFB staff and fellow volunteers before taking any photos.
- We will protect the confidentiality of all sensitive SFB information we may encounter while performing our volunteer duties.
- By submitting a group volunteer application, we confirm that we have read, understood, and agree to comply with all Group Volunteer Requirements and the SFB Volunteer Agreement.
- We understand that failure to follow SFB policies may result in temporary or permanent removal from volunteer opportunities.
