Micah Community Service Volunteer Policies
Age Requirements: Court-ordered community service volunteers must be 16 years or older.
Covid-19 Response: Micah Ministries follows the Center for Disease Control (CDC) regulations regarding masking and social distancing. In order to protect the health of our neighbors, we ask that all volunteers also adhere to these recommendations while volunteering. Since recommendations are subject to change, we appreciate your flexibility and goodwill in these matters.
What to Bring: Please keep personal valuables to a minimum as we do not provide lock boxes for belongings.
Attendance: If you need to cancel a volunteer shift, please do so using the MyImpact volunteer portal AND email the volunteer coordinator at Eleis@dolovewalk.net. If you do not show up for your shift and do not provide notice, Micah will no longer be able to fulfill your community service hours.
Photo and Video Policy: People experiencing homelessness lead lives exposed to both the elements and the public eye. In an effort to protect privacy, please refrain from taking pictures or videos of our neighbors.
Dress Code: Micah Ministries is a dynamic environment. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for a shelter setting. When preparing food, please wear closed-toe shoes and tops with sleeves.
Paperwork: You are required to provide all necessary court paperwork. When all community service hours are successfully completed, Micah Ministries will create a document acknowledging this and will give it to you to give to the court. Micah will not mail. fax or drop off these documents.
