Micah Group Volunteer Policies
Age Requirements: Hospitality Center volunteers must be 16 years or older, and Respite House volunteers must be 12 years or older. Depending on the activity, group volunteers can be younger than 12, but all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Covid-19 Response: Micah Ministries follows the Center for Disease Control (CDC) regulations regarding masking and social distancing. In order to protect the health of our neighbors, we ask that all volunteers also adhere to these recommendations while volunteering. Since recommendations are subject to change, we appreciate your flexibility and goodwill in these matters.
What to Bring: Please keep personal valuables to a minimum as we do not provide lock boxes for belongings.
Attendance: Your help is vital to our success! If you need to cancel a group volunteer shift, please email the volunteer coordinator at Alacia@dolovewalk.net at least 48 hours before your scheduled activity.
Photo and Video Policy: People experiencing homelessness lead lives exposed to both the elements and the public eye. In an effort to protect privacy, please refrain from taking pictures or videos of our neighbors.
Dress Code: Micah Ministries is a dynamic environment. Please dress comfortably and appropriately for a shelter setting. When preparing food, please wear closed-toe shoes and tops with sleeves.
