Volunteering with Barwon Health
We are committed to providing the best possible care to our consumers. Members of our team - both staff and volunteers must meet requirements appropriate to the role they will perform. All applications are treated equally and assessed according to the selection criteria requirements of each role. In addition all successful applicants must meet the mandatory requirements noted below and model the Barwon Health values of Respect, Compassion, Commitment, Accountability and Innovation.
Please review the following mandatory requirements before applying
To be eligible to become a Volunteer at Barwon Health, all volunteers must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Undergo a National Volunteer Police Check (paid for by Barwon Health)
- Complete an NDIS Check or Working with Children Check, (if deemed necessary for your role)
- Commit to maintaining the required immunisations and providing proof. (Barwon Health Volunteers are subject to the same requirements as Staff. Requirements may vary depending on where you will perform your role. Annual flu shots are required and Covid is highly recommended)
- Commit to a minimum of twelve months service and a minimum of one shift a fortnight
- Complete relevant orientation and training.
(Most volunteer roles will require a minimum of one full day of training or comparable eLearning modules plus some supported buddy shifts).
- Attend ongoing information and education sessions
- Sign and agree to our Confidentiality Agreement
- Keep us updated with any changes in availability or contact details
- Keep us updated if a change in circumstances may impact your ability to perform your volunteer role.
